👀 Crypto Fund Trader’s $2 million “robbery” turns into a promo stunt

Hi everyone, another week is upon us, the markets are open and there's lots going on across the industry, so let's get straight into it.

Absolutely wild week on social media, after it appeared CryptoFundTrader had been the victim of a robbery and had all of its funds stolen. Their $2million in “proof of funds” on their website read $0, and a “leaked” video appeared on X via the post below.

The firm then released an official statement, saying an “unauthorised transfer of funds” had taken place.

Lots of debate online at this point about whether this was real, or a marketing stunt.

Eventually they released a video showing that it had in fact been a marketing stunt.

And in true Prop Firm industry fashion, it turned out to just be a new Eval program called BREAK along with a 50% off promo 😆 

📢  Firm Announcements

• NeomAAA Funds consolidated its PRIME, ORIGIN, and NOVA offerings into a single unified product line called NEO, while also introducing revised rules including leverage of up to 1:50 on forex majors.

• AquaFunded lifted all restrictions affecting Pakistani traders, reopening access to funded accounts, while affiliates can now request their first payouts on demand without waiting periods.

🕜 Red Folder News

Here are this week’s red folder news events. A packed calendar, with a global feel. New Fed Chair Kevin Warsh will oversee his first FOMC interest rate decision since taking office in May. The market is pricing a 97% chance of ‘no change’ however, particularly after last weeks hot PPI number, so a surprise cut/rise would cause market chaos.

📈 Markets

Textbook bounce and go.

An up and down week in the equity markets with lots of whipsawing on the lower time frames. Technically a clean bounce off the 50 MA, could be the pullback that we need to run higher. Futures up big this morning.

Fear & Greed

Second week of fear. Not surprising given the fact that the 20% rally off the March low barely got us into greed territory, so market participants are clearly skeptical about putting big money to work here.

Gold and Bitcoin funds seeing massive outflows

Enough capitulation selling to mark a major reversal? Standard Chartered Bank called the Bitcoin bottom last week and BTC has responded and is now +10% off it’s low. Both green this morning.

Can’t not mention SpaceX

Biggest single-day net retail buying on record. Note the previous highest, Coinbase IPO’d at $250, traded up to $440, then within 12 months was trading all the way down at $40, presumably shaking out most of the early buyers, before going on to hit $450 a couple of years later. A cautionary tale.
