πŸ‘€ MyForexFunds is returning with a very different model

Plus: Tech fear deepens ahead of a crucial Fed decision

Hi everyone, another week is upon us and the markets are open, so let’s get into it.

MyForexFunds has revealed the first proper details of its return, with the former industry giant set to relaunch on 23 November. Its new plans will introcude a new β€œPartner” system. Traders begin as Partners, with their data eligible for live execution, but move to β€œIntern” status if they fall 2% below their starting balance until they recover to breakeven. The threshold is static rather than trailing, so any profit buffer built above the starting balance can be risked without affecting Partner status.

The structure is similar to FundedHive, which switches traders from A book to B book after falling 1% below their starting balance. Traders must recover to breakeven before returning to A book, while previous live losses must also be recovered before new profits can be withdrawn. It is not clear whether Intern profits will work in exactly the same way, although MFF’s current proposal appears to make a second move into Intern status a breach. The firm says it is reviewing that restriction following trader feedback.

MFF appears to be making a genuine attempt to create a win-win model for both firm and trader, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Very busy week on the calendar! The Fed is widely expected to hold rates steady on Wednesday following September’s hike, although markets will be watching for signs that another increase is coming in December, before US GDP and Core PCE are released on Thursday.

Nasdaq bloodbath (again)

Fear across tech and AI stocks continued last week, with the AI basket suffering its worst day relative to the S&P 500 since the DeepSeek crash in early 2025.

AI now a major drag on the S&P500

The AI basket relative to the rest of the S&P 500 looks like it is heading off a cliff. This could be interpreted as a good buying opportunity or the beginning of a proper sell-off.

AI Token spend

An interesting chart showing AI usage across US businesses. It continues to push to new highs, as expected, although the growth appears to have moved beyond its parabolic stage. Imagine what the Nasdaq would look like if this chart actually reversed.

Fear and Greed

There was not much movement in the Fear and Greed Index, but it is notable that we did not get an immediate bounce after reaching extreme fear last week. Despite already being at extreme levels, there is still room for sentiment to deteriorate further.

Gonna be an interesting week, have a good one!
